Fun with stickers

When someone gives you a whole sheet of little stickers, and you have your big sister to help you, look at what you can accomplish! Abigail was so pleased!

Painting bedrooms

Okay, here it is, the post you've all been waiting for..... the girls' new bedrooms! Frances was inspired by a friend's "big kid" bedroom, and was ready to pass along her little table, dollhouse, etc., but Abigail's room was too small to accommodate anything but the most basic furniture items. I proposed that the girls trade bedrooms, as Frances' toys are getting smaller. Fran was sceptical at first, but I sweetened the deal by offering to let her choose what color to paint her new room. Oops. Both girls expressed clear opinions about the colors they wanted. I, on the other hand, was raised with a fear of colored paint and wallpaper. I like white walls, muted colors in my textiles, and antique furniture. But these are their rooms, so I let them have a choice. You can see the results below. Both girls love their new rooms!

Spring Break (but not for everyone)

April 4th through the 8th was Spring Break for Abigail and me. Frances' break, unfortunately, does not come until the end of April. Although I had some household projects scheduled, I wanted Abigail to have some fun on her break. We have annual passes to Knott's Berry Farm, and my girls have very different ideas about what is fun to do there. This was the perfect opportunity for Abigail and I to have fun on the "little kid" rides that she loves.

Abigail loves Snoopy, but is really nervous around the big Snoopy that hangs around in the children's area of the park. She wanted to have her picture taken with him, but this was as close as she would get! She likes to call out greetings and wave to Snoopy, and will even give him the "I love you" hand sign, all from a distance.

Abigail likes many of the rides in Camp Snoopy, as well as the merry-go-round, the hats (like the teacups), and especially the stagecoach. Unfortunately, I did not get any photos of her on the stagecoach. Abigail likes to sit on the top and chat with the drivers, and she also enjoys sitting inside the coach. Maybe it's a princess thing!

She does not like riding on the big steam train. The ride itself is slow-paced and quite relaxing, but at some point during the trip, "train robbers" come in, shouting. Abigail says that she does not like "the aliens with the killing guns." Oh well.

The merry-go-round is fun, because there are so many different animals on it. It's hard to decide whether she wants to ride on a chicken, a camel, a rabbit, a giraffe, a lion, a bear.... so we have to go on it more than once.

Abigail is quite the drama queen (no, really?) and has started making crazy faces while on rides. She knows it always gets a laugh, Unfortunately, she started making those faces last Sunday while in big church! I had to tell her that it was not appropriate at that particular time...
